STUDENTS may check out a total of 2 books with a 2 week due date. Books may be renewed one time unless it is needed by another student or teacher. If a student is working on a school project, it is at the discretion of the school librarian to allow that student to take out more than 2 books. If materials are returned late, no late fee will be charged. However we ask that library materials are returned on time for the benefit of other students and teachers.
TEACHERS may check out an unlimited amount of books. No due date is given to the teacher check outs as it is understood that the books will be returned to the library when the teacher has completed the project pertaining to the check outs.
Please keep in mind that other classrooms may also be working on the same curriculum project, which may require that the books be kept in a common area.
Lost Book Procedure:
If a library item is lost, it must be paid for. Please check with Mrs. Arnold, the school librarian, for the price of the item.
If a parent/teacher wishes to replace the lost item, the item must be an exact match. If the item was a hardcover book, it must be replaced with exactly the same hardcover title. NOT a paperback. Please check with Mrs. Arnold, the school librarian, if you have any questions.
Library Open Hours:
Please send a small group of students (no more than 4 at a time) to the library during open times. If the library is unable to accommodate these students due to a scheduled class or meeting, the student(s) will be sent back to their classroom.
Students should return to class within 10/15 minutes, (depending on the question) so other students can use the library.
The library can also be used for small group work. Please check with the school librarian’s schedule so that your group will not be distracted by library instructional classes.
